FlowGuard is a compact, modular stormwater treatment solution designed to provide stormwater treatment within 300mm strip drains and stormwater basins. This decentralised approach supports at-source stormwater treatment, close to where runoff is generated, and provides treatment modalities for flows that may otherwise be bypassed.
FlowGuard’s performance-engineered components each contribute to its highly effective pollution removal capabilities. A SQIDEP-verified device, its design incorporates a multistage treatment action to ensure water quality and sustainability outcomes are met.
Together, these components create a compact stormwater treatment device that provides gross pollutant removal, sediment capture, and tertiary filtration. By treating runoff at the source, FlowGuard improves water quality outcomes while providing a practical solution for commercial, industrial, residential, and retrofit applications.
Top Cover
The top cover is the first stage of treatment. As stormwater enters FlowGuard, the cover captures larger debris and coarse pollutants such as leaves, gravel, stones, and suspended solids. This helps prevent larger materials from entering the filtration stage and supports efficient long-term operation.
Sedimentation Chamber (Centre Bowl)
Following initial screening, stormwater enters the centre bowl where sedimentation occurs. This chamber allows heavier organic matter and sediment particles to settle before the water moves through the filtration media, reducing pollutant loading on the filter stage.
Rubber Seal System
FlowGuard is fitted with rubber seals to ensure a watertight pathway. This guarantees stormwater is directed through the intended flow path, rather than bypassing it. This supports high-performance stormwater treatment and accurate modelling (i.e. MUSIC modelling).
Media Bag
FlowGuard’s high-performance media bag is engineered for superior filtration capabilities, and removes finer pollutants, sediment and nutrients.
Basket and Supporting Components
The basket provides structural support for the internal filtration components, while the optional PVC supporting pipes and fixing screws help secure the system within the channel drain configuration, ensuring stability and reliable operation.
