Ecoceptor®

The Atlan Ecoceptor® is a vertically configured pollutant trap, sediment and light liquids separator suitable for low risk applications. The Stormwater Quality Improvement Device (SQID) has a polyethylene or fibreglass unit, and is designed for use in stormwater drains.

Flow rates on standard units are up to 1400 LPS and can fit pipe sizes from 225mm to 1200mm (with additional sizes available on request).

The Atlan Ecoceptor is independently tested and certified for hydraulic efficiency and the capture of pollutants. It separates and captures pollutants, sediments and light liquids (petroleum hydrocarbons).

The unique hydraulic treatment pipe is sized to suit specified flow rates. Ecoceptor has a special vortex cleaning action, which assists in preventing pollutants from discharging. The cylindrical shape of the SQID with its tapered base (there are no square corners) affords effective and thorough cleaning out of accumulated pollutants.

Features & Benefits

Hydrodynamic Inline GPT

Designed to separate pollutants with low-velocity conditions and extended dwell times, delivering water quality outcomes that comply with Australian statutory guidelines.

Efficient Pollutant Capture

Captures sediments, silt, total suspended solids, and oil and grease; oil is contained in all flow events in a designated “oil-capture” zone.

Robust Fibreglass Construction

Constructed from durable fibreglass, the Ecoceptor is lightweight yet strong, facilitating easy installation and long-term reliability.

Pre-Assembled for Efficiency

Delivered fully assembled, reducing installation time and crane costs; suitable for all trafficable zones (including truck Class D with proper concrete slab installation).

Streamlined Maintenance

Cylindrical shape with a sloped, cone-configured base centralises sediment, making cleaning simple and efficient.

High Flow Capacity

Standard units handle flow rates up to 2800 LPS with pipe sizes ranging from 150mm to 1800mm; custom sizes available on request.

Bypass Operation

Equipped with a bypass mechanism to prevent backup during heavy rainfall events, ensuring continuous operation without overflow.

Manufactured in Australia

Locally fabricated in our National FRP production facilities to meet ISO9001 Quality Standards.

Applications

  • Shopping Precincts
  • Commercial Zones
  • Recreation Grounds
  • Light Industrial areas
  • Beaches and Parks

Ecoceptor FAQ

The Ecoceptor® is a vertically configured hydrodynamic Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) designed to capture sediment, litter, suspended solids, oil, and grease from stormwater runoff before pollutants enter waterways.

The Ecoceptor® uses a hydrodynamic treatment process that creates low-velocity conditions and extended dwell times, allowing pollutants, sediment, and hydrocarbons to separate from stormwater flows.

The system is designed to capture gross pollutants, litter, sediment, silt, total suspended solids (TSS), oil, grease, and petroleum hydrocarbons.

Ecoceptor® units are commonly installed in shopping precincts, commercial developments, recreational facilities, industrial estates, roads, car parks, subdivisions, beaches, and public parks.

Yes. The compact, self-contained design makes the Ecoceptor® suitable for both new developments and retrofit stormwater treatment projects.

Yes. The Ecoceptor® separates and retains light liquids, including petroleum hydrocarbons, within a designated oil-capture zone to prevent pollutants from entering downstream waterways.

Routine maintenance involves removing accumulated sediment, litter, and hydrocarbons through access openings. Its conical base and cylindrical design help centralise pollutants for easier cleaning.

The Ecoceptor® is an inline GPT that is ideal for projects with condensed footprints, retrofit requirements, and low-risk catchment profiles with low to medium scale flow rates. The Ecoceptor meets water quality objectives by capturing sediment, litter, and hydrocarbons.

Higher flowrate projects may benefit from larger GPT systems such as the Atlan Vortceptor® or Atlan BaffleBox. High risk sites with requirements for compliant hydrocarbon management infrastructure can be supported by products such as SpillceptorTriceptor and Flowceptor.
