Bridging the Gap: Atlan Stormwater’s Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)

Bridging the gap between economics and environment, and closing the loop on circular economies, Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certificates are now available for a wide range of Atlan’s flagship water quality, quantity and conveyance assets.

Our EPDs reflect our broader commitment to improving stormwater outcomes for Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and our growing international network – by providing transparent product assessments to inform decision making and drive progress.

Encompassing eight separate products, these declarations present verified environmental performance data developed in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804.

Each of our verified products has undergone a life cycle assessment (LCA), measured from raw material extraction through to end-of-life and recyclability – giving our project partners access to verified, lifecycle-based insights into carbon emissions, energy use and resource recovery potential.

EPDs: Verifying Product Lifecycles for Sustainability

Joy in Water is our mission to protect clean waterways and service local communities with industry leading stormwater infrastructure. This ethos shapes our vision throughout the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of our range of stormwater devices.

Environmental Product Declarations are a valuable tool that quantify environmental impact – and help stakeholders to reduce corporate risk and provide robust, transparent data to drive project innovation, green accreditation and efficiency.

EPD assessments help developers, builders, and contractors ensure stormwater asset selection to support sustainable outcomes, reduce environmental stress, and meet stringent requirements for programs such as Greenstar and IS ratings.

The data presented in our EPDs provides our network of clients with the confidence to specify Atlan’s solutions based on independently verified environmental evaluation.

Our EPDs cover a range of materials and manufacturing processes, from the efficient fabrication processes of our precast concrete tanks to the recycled materials that underpin the sustainability of our AtlanFlow HDPE Pipe and AtlanChamber.

Together, we can ensure that the products we select help to foster sustainable cities and futureproof our communities.

Stormwater Innovation: Our Independently Verified Range

Trust and transparency are key to protecting our waterways for future generations. Demonstrating our industry leadership in the development of sustainable, high-performance stormwater assets, our EPD’s join our existing SQIDEP and TAPE verifications.

Our commitment to nurturing circular economies and developing sustainable urban spaces is supported by our adoption of industry-formulated, independent evaluation processes that rigorously test, assess and verify the capabilities of our stormwater range.

SQIDEP (Stormwater Quality Improvement Device Evaluation Protocol) is Stormwater Australia’s independent evaluation process to verify the pollution removal capabilities of stormwater devices.

Our SQIDEP verified range includes Vortceptor, FlowFilter, FlowGuard, AtlanBasin, StormSack, BaffleBox and AtlanFilter (half-height and full-height).

In 2025, AtlanFilter also received verification through the Washington State Department of Ecology TAPE program (Technology Assessment Protocol – Ecology). This peer-reviewed certification process is the leading American protocol for validating device performance and further bolsters sustainable outcomes for our global projects.

Our goal as Zero Pollution Ambassadors is to create, nurture and inspire – and to build a stormwater network that protects our ecosystems for future generations. We believe clean waterways are a right, not a privilege and our ongoing development of third-party verified solutions ensures a Joy in Water experience for you, with your family and friends.
