FlowGuard

What are the benefits of using FlowGuard for stormwater filtration?

FlowGuard is a modular, decentralised stormwater treatment system that is easily retrofit or directly integrated into strip drains and stormwater pits. Providing SQIDEP-verified pollution removal with the convenience of surface-level installation, these stormwater filtration systems provide a condensed footprint design for at-source stormwater treatment.

Ideal for scenarios where stormwater runoff may otherwise be bypassed, FlowGuard is typically installed in 300mm channel or trench grates, requiring no site-specific design changes to drainage infrastructure. Our latest designs also support installation in pits, further enhancing FlowGuard’s versatility, cost-efficiency, and modular functionality.

FlowGuard has been independently tested and verified through Stormwater Australia’s rigorous SQIDEP (Stormwater Quality Improvement Device Evaluation Protocol) framework. Its high-performance design and filter media composition are engineered to improve water quality and significantly reduce pollutants.

The device’s verified treatment efficiencies demonstrate pollution removal rates of 88% Total Suspended Solids (TSS), 69% Total Phosphorus (TP), and 67% Total Nitrogen (TN).

Key Benefits of FlowGuard

Compatible with AtlanChannel

Seamless integration with our AtlanChannel stormwater conveyance range combines advanced filtration with high-capacity drainage.

Easy Maintenance & Auditing

At-source or decentralised stormwater devices provide efficient access, inspection and maintenance, reducing labour overheads and operating expenses.

Adaptable & Scalable

Additional systems can be installed or retrofit as catchment requirements change or development expands – providing flexibility compared to larger devices.

Minimal Land Use

Decentralised treatment devices require reduced space for installation, making them ideal for sites with condensed footprint requirements.

Early Interception

Capturing pollutants early helps prevents the conveyance of stormwater pollution to downstream assets and spreads pollutant loading across multiple devices.

Treatment for Bypass Catchments

At-source assets allow flows that are typically bypassed, such as from roofing, gutters and driveways, to be treated locally.
