What is the Atlan Stormwater Spillceptor Class 1?

It is an oily water separator that treats water run-off from the service station forecourt and is connected to stormwater drainage.

The separator can be underground in the forecourt or it can be above ground in the BOH. It usually has 2 or 3 lids.

It ensures no hydrocarbons (Fuel, oils etc) discharge to the stormwater from the forecourt and guarantees hydrocarbon capture in a spill event.

The pollutants are sucked out by a sucker truck through the access ways, at the top of the tank which are located on the driveway or forecourt in the service station.

The Maintenance Contractor – The contractor has been trained by Atlan Stormwater on how to correctly clean, maintain & check the tank and alarm system.

Service station staff will need to check that the O&M manifest (refer to O&M section) is correctly filled out by the maintenance contractor.

Staff are also to follow the procedure when the Atlan Stormwater Alarm Probe Controller sounds.

Atlan Stormwater Spillceptor Operations & Maintenance Manual (O&M)

  • It has a service ledger at the back of the manual for the recording of the maintenance.
  • The Maintenance contractor has to fill it out at the completion of each service and it must be witnessed by the service station manager on duty.

It must be kept in a place easily accessed by the Maintenance contractor.
