LIFTING & MOVING FRP TANKS
- The tank owner or their representative is responsible for rigging, unloading and securing the tank on site.
- All tanks must be mechanically unloaded under the direction of a suitable qualified person.
- Take care and lift with caution, as the lift may be uneven or unstable.
- Only use soft or webbing slings – no chains or forklift tynes.
- Use guy ropes to guide the tank when needed.
- Do not move the tank by rolling or dragging.
- Straps securing the tank to the truck should never be released before the appropriate lifting equipment is properly secured to the tank.
- Before the tank is unloaded or relocated, check tank weight and all lifting equipment is suitable for purpose.
- Keep clear at all times.
- Do not position any part of your body near or underneath the tank. This could result in death or serious injury.
- Prepare the unloading and or storage on site by removing all rocks and debris.
- Arrange for sandbags or tyres to be used as chocks.
