We are pleased to announce the verification of AtlanFilter’s performance through the Washington State Department of Ecology TAPE program (Technology Assessment Protocol – Ecology), which demonstrates the ongoing research, development and field testing of our tertiary stormwater treatment range.
Supporting the deployment of AtlanFilter in upcoming projects in the United States and verifying device performance for our growing global network, this rigorous, peer-reviewed certification process is the leading American protocol for validating device performance.
AtlanFilter has demonstrated valid performance claims and joins the list of Washington State Department of Ecology’s table of approved technologies for the following treatment categories –
- Basic (total suspended solids)
- Dissolved metals (dissolved copper and zinc)
- Phosphorus
The AtlanFilter’s half-height and full-height configurations have both been recognised through this process and meet Conditional Use Level Designation (CULD) for basic treatment and phosphorus removal and Pilot Use Level Designation (PULD) for dissolved metals.
We believe that clean waterways are a right, not a privilege. By developing our range of clean water technologies for global markets, we look to stop pollution in our urban catchments and ensure Joy in Water for future generations.
Sustainable Water Quality Outcomes: Verified Filtration Performance
AtlanFilter is a filtration cartridge system designed for installation in OSD tanks, filter bays, and a wide range of filtration configurations, which utilises an up-flow treatment process to maximise treatment surface area for high-performance pollution removal.
The AtlanFilter’s inorganic filter media is non-leaching, and the system features ease of maintenance with ‘swap and go’ media replacement, that enables reuse of filter cartridges many times to lower opex costs. Its compact footprint and versatile configurations ensure viable treatment solutions for diverse projects, including infrastructure projects, shopping centres, transport depots and industrial sites.
The latest TAPE certification follows SQIDEP verification of the AtlanFilter’s full-height models and half-height models in 2022 and 2023. SQIDEP verified treatment efficiencies for the AtlanFilter include 85% Total Suspended Solids (TSS), 74% Total Phosphorus (TP), and 59% Total Nitrogen (TN).
Stormwater Quality Improvement Device Evaluation Protocol (SQIDEP) is Stormwater Australia’s framework for the peer-review, field testing and third-party evaluation of stormwater device performance. The AtlanFilter’s combination of TAPE and SQIDEP verification embodies our ongoing commitment to independent testing and shows the robust data supporting the pollution removal efficacy of this device.
Assisting developers, engineers, local governments, and regulatory agencies during asset selection, TAPE & SQIDEP frameworks provide invaluable benchmarks for enhancing sustainability, environmental outcomes, and water quality objectives.
Building trust and transparency, these verification protocols help facilitate compliant stormwater design. By ensuring devices meet pollution removal objectives, we can work together to protect local communities and our shared waterways, lakes, rivers and seas.
