Our latest verification announcement has landed with AtlanFilter gaining successful verification through the New Jersey Corporation for Advanced Technology (NJCAT) Verification Program. This verification reinforces the validation of AtlanFilter’s stormwater treatment performance claims and supports its deployment across North America.
NJCAT is one of America’s premier protocols for verifying stormwater device performance. It provides technology innovators with technical and regulatory support to bring innovative and emerging environmental technologies to market.
AtlanFilter has gained verification under the category of Stormwater Technologies: Laboratory Verified. Through this framework, MTD (Manufactured Treatment Device) stormwater technologies have been tested to NJDEP (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection) published testing protocols and their performance verified by NJCAT and certified by NJDEP.
Full-height Atlanfilter
The cumulative sediment removal efficiency of 82.9% exceeded the NJDEP protocol requirement of ≥80%.
Half-height AtlanFilter
The cumulative sediment removal efficiency of 82.1% exceeds the NJDEP protocol requirement of ≥80%.
The target removal efficiency tests were conducted at 1.5 L/s (23.8 gpm) as were all of the sediment mass loading capacity tests. The driving head was not exceeded during the SML testing and the TSS results remained above the cumulative 80% Removal Efficiency requirement. All tests met the requirements of the NJDEP protocol and the QA/QC parameters.
NJCAT verification follows AtlanFilter’s TAPE designation and SQIDEP-verification, and demonstrates Atlan Stormwater’s ongoing research, engineering and product development. Servicing our urban catchments and watersheds, we develop high-performance stormwater solutions to protect Joy in Water for future generations.
AtlanFilter: High-Performance Stormwater Cartridge Filtration
AtlanFilter’s NJCAT-verified performance claims provide confidence to project stakeholders, local regulators, engineers, and stormwater professionals in specifying these devices for use, ensuring they meet key environmental policies, satisfy regulatory standards, and protect the environment and human health.
AtlanFilter is a high-performance cartridge filtration system designed for installation in stormwater infrastructure, including stormwater pits, detention tanks, filter bays and vault systems. Its high-performance design utilises an upflow treatment process, which maximises treatment surface area for a range of stormwater pollutants.
The AtlanFilter’s SQIDEP-verified treatment efficiencies include 85% Total Suspended Solids (TSS), 74% Total Phosphorus (TP), and 59% Total Nitrogen (TN).
Benefits of the AtlanFilter include its inorganic, non-leaching filter media and ‘swap and go’ cartridge system. These features enable quick installation and ease of maintenance – helping improve project value by lowering operational expenditure and labour time.
As part of Atlan Stormwater’s broader sustainability focus, AtlanFilter is also included within the company’s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) range, providing transparent lifecycle assessment data to support sustainable infrastructure and building initiatives.
The latest NJCAT outcome further strengthens confidence in this innovative stormwater treatment device, which is supported by its operational reliability, pollution capture capabilities, and its suitability for a wide range of projects, including critical infrastructure, commercial, industrial, residential, and urban developments.
We believe clean waterways are a right, not a privilege. Through continuous investment in independent verification, product testing and innovation, Atlan Stormwater is improving water quality to ensure the health of our shared lakes, rivers and seas. Together, we can capture pollution at the source and bridge the gap between economics and environment.
