than a decade of experience in environmental science and policy, Brian brings together the practical, boots-in-the-water perspectives of a seasoned field ecologist with the theoretic erudition, book-learning, and analytical acuity of a policy scholar, crack statistician, and avant-garde GIS jockey. Brian earned a BS in biology and an MSPH with a focus in environmental science and engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2018, he completed his PhD in public policy at the University of Pittsburgh. Brian currently works as Deputy Policy Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, coordinating policies across the department&#8217;s water programs.
