{"id":3336,"date":"2020-10-07T16:18:58","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T03:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlan.co.nz\/?p=3336"},"modified":"2020-10-07T16:18:58","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T03:18:58","slug":"innovative-solution-vic-desalination-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/nz\/innovative-solution-vic-desalination-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovative Solution for VIC Desalination Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Wonthaggi, Victoria<\/p>\n<p><strong>Customer:<\/strong> Thiess Degremont Joint Venture, working for the Victorian Government<\/p>\n<p><strong>Problems:<\/strong> A desalination plant in an environmentally sensitive area<\/p>\n<p><strong>Products:<\/strong> 3 x Puraceptors<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inlet\/Outlet size<\/strong> &#8211; Inlet with 225mm Stainless steel flanges<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treatment Flow Rate<\/strong> &#8211; 40LPS on all units<\/p>\n<p><strong>Total Volume<\/strong> &#8211; the 3 units had to cater for a 70,000 litres, 75,000 litres and a 65,000 litres oil spill respectively<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>The Challenge<\/h2>\n<p>The Pristine beaches of south Gippsland were under intense scrutiny and the consultants under pressure from environmental authorities when the Desalination project was conceived.<\/p>\n<p>When 3 large transformer stations were added as supporting infrastructure, the concerns were deepened and rightly so!<\/p>\n<p>With up to 500,000 litres of transformer oil stored across these 3 sites, a mere thunderstorm could wreak havoc with the transformers and could potentially result in a catastrophic failure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Our Solution<\/h2>\n<p>The SPELs Victorian &amp; Tasmanian team, working with the design consultants, the pressures and the challenges to ensure concerns were quic<span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">kly relieved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-454\" style=\"font-weight: inherit;\" src=\"https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/08\/SPEL-Puraceptor-300x200.png\" alt=\"SPEL Puraceptor\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/08\/SPEL-Puraceptor-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/08\/SPEL-Puraceptor-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/08\/SPEL-Puraceptor-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/08\/SPEL-Puraceptor.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/atlan.co.nz\/puraceptor\/\">SPEL Puraceptor<\/a> is the insurance on this project!<\/p>\n<p>SPEL Puraceptor is a full retention separator that treats all flows.
