They link together everything in aquatic food webs, and if this faunal group is missing for any reason, then the entire system would quickly collapse. His career has taken him across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Dr. Walsh has served as a Senior Scientist with CSIRO and the Department of Environment and Heritage.
