However, as urban expansion continues across the globe, the downside of conventional approaches are now becoming apparent, with increased degradation of natural waterways and the pollution build-up in our oceans and seas.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f4c3c35 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f4c3c35\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">As social pressure has increased to protect these waterways and oceans, some governments have responded by implementing a range of \u2018Water Sensitive Urban Design\u2019 type stormwater management measures.\u00a0 Examples include constructed wetlands, raingardens, biofiltration systems, swales, and gross pollutant traps.\u00a0 Collectively referred to as \u201cstormwater control measures\u201d (SCMs), such approaches to stormwater management infrastructure have only been introduced recently.\u00a0 In Victoria, they saw the introduction in the early 2000s, and have seen accelerated construction of the past 20 years.\u00a0 However, concerns have been raised about how well these systems are being maintained and that, consequently, the benefits of these systems may not be fully realised.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b2fb8d3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b2fb8d3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">In this presentation, Andrew presents research focused on these concerns, identifying that the under-maintenance of SCMs may be a function of a \u201cfailure to thrive\u201d scenario.\u00a0 That is, a problem with the transition of SCMs from novel concept to mainstream accepted practice.\u00a0 Accordingly, Andrew presents three \u2018intervention pathways\u2019 to address this failure to thrive scenario, drawing on interview data collected from 54 professionals working across eight leading WSUD councils in Victoria.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-140e8d8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"140e8d8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">This session will be especially relevant for local council representatives, ESD consultants or engineers looking to gain a deeper understanding in the efficacy of SCMs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-deec74a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"deec74a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">The webinar will run for approximately 60 minutes, inclusive of a Q&amp;A session at the end of the session.
