This primary treatment asset will enhance the site\u2019s environmental resilience and align with best-practice Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD).<\/p><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/au\/bafflebox\/\">Atlan BaffleBox\u2019s<\/a> internal baffle configuration uses a combination of chambers and a screen to settle sediment and capture floatable pollutants. Acting as a first line of defence, this performance-engineered Gross Pollutant Trap infrastructure will capture plastics, debris, suspended solids and nutrients, effectively mitigating their impacts on the park\u2019s wetlands.<\/p><p>Verified through <a href=\"https:\/\/atlanstormwater.com\/au\/sustainability-certification\/\">SQIDEP (Stormwater Quality Improvement Device Evaluation Protocol)<\/a>, Stormwater Australia\u2019s leading framework for evaluating stormwater device performance, the BaffleBox features pollution removal efficiencies of 73% Total Suspended Solids, 59% Total Phosphorus, 39% Total Nitrogen, 99% Gross Pollutants, and 66% microplastics.<\/p><p>Designed for large catchment flow rates, the site\u2019s BaffleBox measures 6 metres by 3.6 metres. This high-capacity size will ensure optimal operation during routine rainfall and larger storm events, accommodating peak flow rates of 3,540 litres per second, and water quality flow rates of 700 litres per second.<\/p><p>Atlan Stormwater supported the careful planning and project management for this prestigious installation throughout its design, fabrication, and logistics phases.
