Stormwater harvesting programs allow us to remove these pollutants, utilise stormwater runoff as a sustainable water supply, and protect our waterways.<\/p><p>Common stormwater pollutants include gross pollution, microplastics, heavy metals, nutrients (total nitrogen and total phosphorus), garden chemicals, pet waste, light liquids from traffic, litter and debris. Treatment allows their removal in our urban catchments and mitigates their negative impacts on water quality.<\/p><p>Stormwater treatment devices provide capabilities to capture pollution from incoming stormwater \u2013 which improves the quality of harvested stormwater and prevents the conveyance of these contaminants into storage tanks.<\/p><p>By pretreating stormwater flows, sediment and debris are prevented from entering stormwater tanks, which lowers the maintenance requirements for tank chambers and improves the service life of stormwater harvesting systems.
